Process Et al

I follow the typical product design process, starting with empathy and ending with measurement and validation. The process typically varies based on where i’m working at the time and usually bends to the needs and maturity of the organization.

As a practitioner I would brainstorm with my team, white boarding and sketching out ideas to quickly vet and advance viable solutions. Using competitive analysis and data research comparisons help guide the process for improvement and focus on our user journeys. The goal always being to improve on what currently exists in the competitive landscape. Next, a series of prototyping and testing to learn and improve interaction and visual design.

Today as an enterprise manager I am responsible for collaborative development of strategic roadmaps, outcomes, KPI’s and the quality and pace of iterative design.

I have not been a Individual Contributor for some time but my love for design will never wane. As the design steward for State Farm UX, I champion the advancement, culture, success and evolution of the discipline by leading weekly conversations with our UX designers. Those conversation have spawned our monthly newsletter which is currently being developed as an internal microsite.
